Faith Bible Church Members Going to New Orleans
Faith Bible Church in Oxford is very pleased to announce that 12 members of their church will be traveling to New Orleans, La. in early February to help with home reconstruction following Hurricane Katrina.
Working in conjunction with Berean Bible Church of New Orleans the team from Faith Bible Church will be cleaning out homes which were flooded by the Hurricane waters and then also helping to rehabilitate homes so people from Berean Bible Church can move home. The team from Faith Bible Church in Oxford will spent 7 days on the ground in New Orleans helping in the recovery efforts. Each member of the team has raised or paid their own way and will cover most their own expenses while in the New Orleans area helping the hurricane victims. This short term ministry trip is just one more way the members and friends of Faith Bible Church are seeking to help those struggling in the aftermath of the Hurricane.
In December the ladies of the church gathered materials to fill 20 "care bags" which were given to women at Berean Bible Church who had lost everything in the floods. These bags contained personal care items, snack foods, and written materials to encourage those who are hurting in the floods aftermath. It is also hoped that during their time in New Orleans a
Ladies Tea will be held with some of the women who received the earlier "Care bags." Hopefully we will also be sending another short term team down in the later spring to continue the recovery work and further encourage the people of New Orleans.
Faith Bible Church is an independent local Bible centered ministry meeting
at 45 Butler Street, Rt. 220 west, in the village of Oxford. Regular Sunday services are held each week at 9:30, 10:30 and 7:00 pm. and visitors are always welcome.
