A Piece of History One Forgets
The Guilford Historical Society had their
Annual Winter Social on Feb. 18th, 2006 at the Methodist Church.
They had a fascinating presentation by Rick Zacharias on 19th Century Undertaking - A Piece of History One Forgets. It went along well with their research displays on the cemeteries of Guilford and their recently completed obit collections.
A special thanks went to the Yaleville Inn for supplying lunch. Their donation of BBQ chicken and ribs with homemade rolls and salad was fantastic. And a thank you went out to the Chenango County Historical Society for letting them borrow the 19th century child's coffin.
