It's Agricultural Recognition Day, aka "AG DAY", on Monday, March 20th.
Building awareness for, and appreciation of, the role of agriculture in our everyday lives-- is what "Ag Day" is all about.
The Chenango County Farm Bureau (CCFB) is hosting a luncheon at the Fox Run Event Center in Sherburne from 12-noon to 3:30 PM. The CCFB is a not-for-profit agricultural organization, dedicated to providing its farmer and associate members with legislative support, educational programs and services to: help members improve the quality of their lives; strengthen agriculture and rural America. They're one of 52 counties that make up the over 35,000 membership of New York Farm Bureau. The public is invited; call (607) 336-3546 to make reservations.
At the luncheon, Chenango County Farm Bureau President, Bradd Vickers, will focus on the national energy issue known as the "25 by 25" vision stating that agriculture, by the year 2025 will produce 25% of the nation's energy supply while continuing to produce abundant, safe and affordable food and fiber.
Bradd Vickers received a proclamation on behalf of the Chenango County Farm Bureau declaring it "Ag Day" by chairman of the Chenango County Board of Supervisors, Richard Decker.

In addition to this luncheon, Janet Pfromm, the Cornell Cooperative Extension Ag Educator, has planned to have a book read in every school about how Mozzerella cheese is made.
