Rotary’s Easter Egg Hunt in Oxford Had Happy Kids Hopping!
Saturday, April 8 the Oxford Rotary Club sponsored its 3rd Annual Easter Egg hunt, which continues to grow bigger and better each year. This free event took place in LaFayette Park, in beautiful downtown Oxford. The air was quite nippy, but that didn’t detract the dozens of youngsters and their families who came to the event from Oxford and the surrounding area. People like the Sansoucie family of Guilford combined the hunt with a visit to their family in Oxford. The hunt even brought out the Easter Bunny who posed with children for pictures.
Kids, in their running shoes, were prepared with bags or pretty Easter baskets; the Oxford Rotary had hundreds of plastic eggs filled with candy, coins, and a few special prizes. “Easter bunny assistants” like Oxford Rotary president, Gary Ives; Deb Toby; Sandy Phetteplace; and other members disbursed the brilliantly colored eggs on the green and in the bushes for the children to find. There were three separate egg hunts for children in pre-school through 4th grade. The older kids in the last group were so fast they were quick like…bunnies! All the colored eggs were accounted for and smiles were on every little face.
The Oxford Rotary Club would like to thank the people of Oxford for their continued support of this event and the other activities sponsored by the Rotary Club.
