OHS Donates to Library
Oxford Historical Society Donates to Library Building Fund
The Oxford Historical Society (OHS) made a donation to the Oxford Memorial Library Building Fund in the amount of $1,000. The check was presented to the Library Board of Trustees President, Matt Voce, by OHS Treasurer, Claire Braun, at the Societys April 25th, Depot-Museum meeting. The OHS has committed to donating three more $1,000 checks over the next three years, for a total of $4,000. The money is to go toward the “Charlotte Stafford Reading Nook”.
The Oxford Memorial Library Building Fund is for a million dollar expansion and upgrade, for the 200 year old, library facility. For further Library Expansion Project information, brochure or donations call the Oxford Memorial Library at (607) 843-6146.
The Oxford Historical Society is a private, non-profit, educational and cultural organization established in 1970, chartered in 1981, with about 100 members. Its goal is to preserve and share Oxford's history with the community. The Society collects, preserves and tells the story of Oxford's colorful past through interesting museum exhibits, educational presentations, reference libraries, photographs, and collections of local artifacts. They meet five times a year, bimonthly; starting at 7:00 pm. Call: (607) 843-9446 or visit the Depot Thursdays between 1-3 PM.
