Congrats Junior Shooters!
Venturing Crew won 14 Medals and NRA Grant Money
Twelve junior shooters from Venturing Crew 65, the Oxford Rod & Gun Club Junior Shooting program, won a total of 14 medals as they took fifth place at the New York American Legion Sporter Air Rifle Championship in New Hartford. The Crew was also presented with a check for $1,950 from the NRA Foundation (http://www.nrafoundation.org/) for use in enhancing their shooting programs.
Medal winners from the team were:
Becky Covey - Bronze Class C, Standing
Quincy Davis - Bronze Class D, Prone
Gabe DeBrita - Silver Class D, Prone
Joe DeBrita - Gold Class C, Prone; Silver Class C, Standing; and Bronze Class C Overall
Luke DeBrita - Silver Class B, Prone
Andrew Hubman - Gold Class B, Overall; Bronze Class B, Prone
PJ Hubman - Gold Class B, Prone; and Bronze Class B Overall
Kyle Whitney - Bronze Class D, Standing; and Bronze Class D, Kneeling
Also competing for Oxford in this statewide match, that was attended by nine other teams, were Lucas Davis, Jim Fagnani, Luiza Jarochi and Geoff Sheldon.

Bradd Vickers, local Friends of the NRA Committee Chairman, presented the check to the Crew. The Friends of National Rifle Association money comes from a grant for which the Crew applied to help with the purchase of secure storage equipment, a voice release system for trapshooting and a computer-based rifle trainer.
Funding for the NRA Foundation grant program comes primarily from local Friends of the NRA fundraising dinners. The next local Friends of the NRA dinner will be May 12th in Sherburne, NY. Those interested in attending should contact Vickers at braddv@hotmail.com or call (607) 336-3546.
