Oxford Talent at Colorscape, 9/9-10
Great Oxford Talents to Exhibit at Colorscape
Next weekend, September 9th and 10th, the Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival will be returning to the East and West Parks of Norwich. Now in its twelfth year, this show has established itself as one of the highest quality juried craft events on the East coast. They feature artist demonstrations, workshops, educational activities for children and adults, live entertainment, and quality food selections. Artists and craftsmen come from all over the country, but you can be sure that the talent of Oxford will be there.
Representing Oxford with gallery quality craft exhibits will be the work of Oxford residents:
Norm Hall of HALL TRADITIONALS, wood worker, designer/maker of spinning wheels. Aside from spinning wheels, Norm will be selling his tools, wood chips/sawdust for natural dyeing, turned bowls, Shaker boxes, stools and more. He will have one wheel that people can try spinning on - but if you really want one, you'll have to wait at least 3 years!
John Knapp of KNAPP KNOLL WOODWORKS, with be returning to Colorscape with smooth wooden toys of his own creation.
David Hayles and Angelique Bakalyar of BEAVER PALACE STUDIO, will be returning with their ornamental, architectural, Scagliola. Scagliola (pronounced with a silent “g”--scay lee oh lah) castings are made of special “plaster marble”, which David has been perfecting for 20 years. It's created from plaster, pigments and glue, and burnished up to a brilliant shine. Colorscape 2006 will also feature non-stop acoustic music arranged by Oxford's Ken Millett of the "Night Eagle Café".

Even Colorscape's new promo VW camper bus with "flower power" had the logo reproduced on both sides by Rick Hansen of Oxford.

Come out and support the arts. Hours Saturday: 10-6 and Sunday: 11-5.
There's no admission fee to Colorscape. It's FREE.
