FD Open House Demo
The Oxford Fire Department had their open house Wednesday, October 11th. You could see all aspects of the fire department and meet the volunteers who assist in time of need. There was a free blood pressure screening, auto extrications demonstration, fire apparatus on display, and free refreshments.

Caption 1: The firemen use the "Jaws of Life" to remove the car door.
Caption 2: The kids watching got a big thrill out of seeing the door ripped off its hinges!
Caption 3: The Cub Scouts were especially in awe of the ease in which the firemen were able to remove windows and cut off the top of the car.
Caption 4: A question and answer session helped the children understand the need for such extreme emergency measures.
