The Binghamton Summer Music Festival brings a touch of Rio to Norwich with MINAS - one of the most sought after Brazilian bands in the United States featuring 6 musicians, costumed samba and capoeira dancers! Dance the night away to bossa nova, samba and classic compositions, as well as original works. Samba dance lessons are included in the fun, so bring your dancing feet! Capoeira demos will introduce you to this form of martial arts "disguised" as a dance. SMAC (Salsa Music Appreciation Club) will also offer free dance lessons.Founded in 1979 by husband and wife Orlando Haddad and Patricia King, Minas is built upon the duo's multiple talents as vocalists, instrumentalists and composers. Warm vocal harmonies, and magical blending of guitar, piano, bass, drums, percussion & wind instruments will transport you to another part of the world.
