2007 Oxford Lions Halloween Parade

OXFORD - The weather may have been cold and rainy outside, but it was a great day for the Oxford Lions Halloween parade which was held inside the Oxford Fire Station on October 28. The judges had a difficult task choosing the prize winners with 48 registered participants ranging in age from 1 to 11, all wearing very creative costumes.
There were 5 students from the Honor Society who volunteered their time to judge: Geoff Sheldon, Kylie Beauchamp, Holly Ann Branham, Christie Baker, and Olivia Powell.
The winners were: (PreK) 1st place – Ethen Degan as a Wizard of Oz Flying Monkey, 2nd place – Cooper Rice as an Indian, 3rd place – Christian Paden as Woody. (K-1st grades) 1st place – Jacob Murrer as Mr. Peanut, 2nd place – Paige Cirello as a cupcake, 3rd place – Nicholas Cirello as Oscar Meyer Bologna. (2nd & 3rd grades) lst place – Kylie Roys as a bride and groom, 2nd place – Raigen Ehly as Barbie in a box, 3rd place – Jackie Murrer as a Dunkin Donuts Latte. (4th & 5th grades) 1st place Kate Cirello as French Fries, 2nd place Sadie Gregory as Athena, 3rd place – Amy Branham as a Midnight Fairy. (Middle School) 1st place – Marisa Baldwin as a Dead Bride and 2nd place – Adam Camiel as the Grim Reaper.

Oxford Lions member and DJ Jim Baldwin set the stage with a large forbidding castle. He entertained everyone by playing Halloween music for the parade and while the judges were making their choices. Cider and donuts were enjoyed by everyone after the parade thanks to the Lionettes Club who, earlier this year, graciously donated the remainder of their treasury requesting that the funds be used for this purpose.
