Day of Caring Lunch
OXFORD - The Chenango County United Way’s “Live United - 2nd annual Day of Caring” was held September 27th. Charlie McMullen coordinated a free lunch for the community at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Healthy Start Partnership’s “Eat 3 Campaign: Eat Well, Eat Local, Eat Together”. Volunteers which included staff from The Evening Sun served the lunch as part of their contribution to the Day of Caring.
Information from United Health Services was also available which gave dates and locations for free area cancer screenings. Chenango Memorial Hospital (http://www.uhs.net/) in Norwich will be participating on Saturday, October 4th, from 10 AM – 2 PM. Call (607) 762-2633 or 888-989-8474 for advance registration.
