Thursday’s Open Mic,
But there’s More Fun at 6OTS!
OXFORD – Plan to visit 6 On The Square (6OTS) as they have at least three ‘feel good’ events upcoming to share with those who appreciate arts and music. Open Mic Night, the fun and free entertainment evening, is this Thursday, then…if you’re looking for a great show to meet with friends after Thanksgiving, look no further. Nov. 26th, Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys will be there! 6OTS has shopping too; Nov. 26th is the grand opening of the Holiday Shoppe. You can feel good about “Buying Local” and proudly give a gift that is unique to Chenango County!
This Thursday, November 18th, at 7:30 PM, don’t miss Open Mic Night at 6OTS. If you would like to perform ‘that new song’, try out a new arrangement with your band, recite poetry, or tell a story, the 6OTS stage is yours that evening! Singers, poetry readers, musicians, come one and all! There’s no charge to perform or listen; it’s always free admission! (It’s every third Thursday of each month, and the hour is early enough for budding teen musicians to perform.) Who knows…you might even be selected to perform at one of 6OTS’ Local Talent Nights! Doors open at 6:30 PM and all ages are welcome.
While your there, make reservations for Americana Roots Music with Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys. The band, well known for its three-part harmonies and stellar musicianship, will be appearing Friday, November 26th at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $12 until the day of the performance, $15 on show date. Maybe you want to holiday shop on “Black Friday”. The 6OTS Holiday Shoppe will be open starting on Friday, November 26th, from 10 AM to 4 PM, and you are invited in to see the special items lovingly made by hand by talented artists from the area. The 6OTS Holiday Shoppe will only be open for four consecutive weekends thru December 19th. You can come in on Saturdays from 10 - 4 and Sundays 11 - 3. The Shoppe will also be open during performances. If you make a purchase, you can feel good knowing that you are helping to support the artistic endeavors of 6OTS, but your purchases also support local artists and craftspeople.
6OTS is continuing to collect food items for the Oxford Food Pantry; you may drop them in the basket as you enter. The Pantry sincerely thanks the generous community for past donations. You can certainly feel good about that!
