Norwich Campus Student Graduates with Perfect GPA

Morrisville State College held commencement activities on May 21 in Morrisville. Among the approximately 700 graduates, were 35 graduates from the Norwich Campus.

Jeanne Hodack, of Norwich graduated with honors with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, the highest average of any student graduating this spring. Hodack completed her associate of arts in social science and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, a national honor society for junior colleges.

“The Norwich Campus is a really great place to begin one's college experience. It had been 18 years since I had graduated from high school so I was unsure about my abilities. Class sizes are small at the Norwich Campus. It was a great way for me to build confidence in myself. My professors were super. They always made themselves available for extra help. They really cared and wanted their students to succeed,” Hodack said.

Hodack plans to take a year off from college to work in an elementary or middle school as a teacher's assistant. She wants to work with children for a year to get a better feel for what field she wants to pursue.

“We are very proud of Jeanne,” said Marsha Cornelius, academic counselor. “She has been a tremendous asset to the campus, being involved in activities, participating in Phi Theta Kappa, and helping other students. We will miss her but of course are delighted that she is moving on and we certainly wish her the very best.”
