Ten Norwich Campus Nursing Students Graduate
Morrisville State College held commencement activities on May 21 in Morrisville. During the ceremony ten students who started their nursing degree program at the Norwich Campus graduated after completing their studies on the main campus in Morrisville.
Nursing graduates from the Norwich Campus include; Annette Alexandrea, Mary Connick, Cynthia Fox, Bettsie Proskine, Randy Stearns, and Robert Stone, of Norwich; Katie Costa, of Georgetown; Candace Glasbergen and Jacqueline Parker, of Sherburne; and Erin Rourke, of Oxford.
“It’s wonderful that these students were able to begin the nursing program here on the Norwich Campus,” said Academic Counselor, Marsha Cornelius. “We are excited about increasing the number of nursing courses and prerequisites here at Follett Hall with our new laboratory classrooms. Students can begin the nursing program here in Norwich before transitioning to the main campus to complete the final year of their degree program.”
Morrisville State College offers 12 bachelor degrees and a wide variety of associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.
The Norwich Campus offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers. The Campus' new academic building, Roger W. Follett Hall, opened in June 2005 to accommodate the growing need for programs and services.
