SECOND ANNUAL OBAA WEEKEND REUNION

The Oxford Blackhawk Alumni Association members have been planning their second annual weekend reunion for many months. This weekend, July 29, 30 and 31, their efforts will culminate in a great weekend for all Alumni of Oxford Academy.

The Kick-Off event will be Friday evening, July 29th, at the American Legion, Post 376, on South Washington Street at 7:00 pm. when the Association conducts its annual meeting. The results of the recent election for the Board of Directors will be reported, and the recipient of the “Honoree of the Year” will be announced.

Starting at 8:00 pm at the American Legion, the WELCOME HOME ICE BREAKER will greet many alumni & friends, over 21. Last year’s Ice Breaker was so well received that it was deemed the best activity of the weekend, and the Legion reported its highest attendance ever! Old & new friends were reunited and renewed old acquaintances. This definitely is a great opportunity to start off your weekend. Don’t miss this event!! The Ice Breaker will continue until 1:00 am.

There will be a Captain and Crew Golf Tournament Saturday morning, July 30th at Bluestone Golf Course, located at 44 Scott Street (at Grant & Scott Streets).
Registration is at 8:00 am with tee off time at 8:30 am. Contact Lew Ford at codeguy@stny.rr.com to preregister.
A motorcycle ride will leave from LaFayette Park at 9:00 am for all motorcycle enthusiasts.
Also, beginning at 9:00 am; activities on LaFayette Park will include local vendors, the Oxford Farmers Market, and St. Paul’s Church bake sale offering different refreshments, and hayrides for the kids.

Another big treat that was thoroughly enjoyed last year is the Oxford Historical Society’s large display on the Park. They will again have Year Books from previous graduating classes. Stop by and help us identify some class photos with many unidentified students. Enjoy a pleasant trip down memory lane.
Oxford Academy School tours will be offered as follows:
Middle School 1:30-2:00 pm
Primary & High School 2:00-2:30 pm

Boname Park, on East River Road, is available all weekend for picnics, various ball games, playground, etc.

A Block Party will be on the Park in downtown Oxford on Saturday evening, July 31st, from 8:00-12:00 pm. Music for dancing and karaoke will be provided.

A big breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes, and other hearty fare will be available at the American Legion Home, which is located at 17 South Washington Avenue, on Sunday, July 31st from 7:30-11:00 am.

The churches of Oxford welcome you to worship at the church of your choice on Sunday morning.

Individual class reunions will be held throughout the weekend. Please visit the website at www.oxfordblackhawks.com for more information.
