Background on Performers: Nick & Alice Seeger
Nick is a singer/songwriter, recording artist who plays guitar and banjo. The songs he sings run the gamut from old to new, folk to blues with some ragtime in between. His original compositions include the personally inspired, SAIL ON FLYING DUTCHMAN, plus his charted hit, SHAPED LIKE A BEND IN THE RIVER. Nick has recorded four albums, one of which is a children's recording, A SONG OR TWO FOR YOU, available from A Gentle Wind.
Alice is a storyteller and fiber artist. She has been spinning yarn and tales for children in libraries and schools for many years. Her stories share her love of nature, the quiet wisdom passed to her from her Cherokee grandmother, and the importance of family and community.
Together their stories and music intertwine and reach out to all generations. Listen to magical journeys and join in singing with Alice and Nick Seeger.

Claddagh Ring Dancers to Perform Sunday, 2:30 PM! :D
The fund raiser at the Oxford Memorial Library is tomorrow, Sunday, 9/25, from 1-4 PM. One of the (free) performances, not to be missed are the Irish step dancers, the Claddagh Ring Dancers. They will be performing in front of the Oxford Academy Middle School at 2:30 PM.
(You may have seen them at the Oxford Library this summer on July 7th, as part of the summer reading program, "Tune In @ Your Library".)
In this half hour performance, the Claddagh Ring Dancers are going to show off some their repertoire of Irish Dances which include Jigs, Reels, Hornpipe, Treble Jigs, and Treble Reels. There will be music, dancing demonstration, and loads of fun. These dances are comprised of special steps that result in beautiful footwork, rhythm and sound.
The Claddagh Ring Dancers have danced as a group in the St. Patrick's Day parades in Syracuse and Binghamton, and they take their programs to nursing homes in the area.
Tomorrow is going to be quite an event, so come on by at 1:00 PM have some delicious barbecued chicken for lunch, learn about the building expansion project, see the architect's blue print plans, hear some very important speakers, play some games, make some crafts with the kids, and have a ball!!!
