I'm posting this on behalf of someone that contacted us about a dog they found recently in Damascus. It's been brought to the Binghamton animal shelter, and this family would love to have the proper owner found. Here's the message I was sent:
I don't know how to get this out to all the rod and gun clubs in the area but my daughter who lives in Damascus New York found a beeeeeeeee- yu tiful redbone or plott hound or rhodesian ridgeback hound in her yard yesterday , half starved and very exhausted. Me and my husband figure it is a lost coon hound that got away from the hunter and maybe has been running for days. My daughter had the dog control officer come get it this after noon and take it to the front street dog shelter in Binghamton New York as she wanted to give who ever lost the dog a chance to find it. Her 3 little daughters are just devastated and crying as they fell in love with the dog having had it for a day and a night and wanted to keep it and are afraid they will just put this sweet little girl to sleep. She is the MOST BEE YU TIFUL DOG big , red, long eared and just beautiful, albeit run down and quite thin. Please can you pass this along to any other rod and gun clubs in the area so that who ever owns the dog might be able to find her???? It would be just great if she were re-united with her family and this end up being a happy [sic] ending!!!
