Otselic Valley Fishing Heritage Day
The Otselic Valley Fishing and Heritage Assn.s (OVF&HA) annual - Fishing Heritage Day is held on the 3rd Saturday in May, from 9 am to 4 pm. Enjoy fish hatchery exhibits and tours; fishing clinics for all ages (with donated prizes); and demonstrations. In the park, shop for crafts, arts and antiques while enjoying food and live music. OVF&HA promotes appreciation of the Otselic River Valley heritage and recreational resources and is planning future events. Wild West Trophy Hunts
145 acres of the most beautiful hunting land you will ever see. Our hunting preserve is 90% wooded with broken terrain which makes for a great hunt. We have trophy Elk, Buffalo, Whitetail, Red Stag, Fallow Deer, and Russian Boar. Lodging is available. Area for sighting in guns and bows is set up for your convenience. Will help you with arrangements for taxidermist and meat processing. Tours available to potential hunters. Come and relax, we won't push you into the woods, or make you leave as soon as you get your trophy. This is your hunt, your vacation, it should be enjoyed. Federal Junior Duck Stamp Program
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program (JDS) is a dynamic arts curriculum that teaches wetlands and waterfowl conservation to students in kindergarten through high school. The program incorporates scientific and wildlife management principles into a visual arts curriculum with participants completing a JDS design as their visual “term papers”. Courtney Barnhart ofOxford Academy High School won an Honorable Mention in the 2006 NY Best of Show competition with "Percy". Alex Guzman won the state Best of Show in 2005. |
