Chenango River

 Principal species of fish: Walleyes, northern pike, chain pickerell, largemouth bass and panfish. Access: Water or access is privately owned, although not presently posted. Suitability for Watercraft: Canoes Comments: Tee lined, excellent float trip fishing. Hand launch: at North Norwich on Rt. 12

Otselic River

Principal species of fish: Bass, trout. Access: Public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water. Suitability for watercraft: None. Comments: Large mostly open stream.

Unadilla River
Afton, NY, Bainbridge, NY,Columbus, NY,Guilford, NY, Norwich,NY

Principal species of fish: walleye, chain pickerel, largemouth bass, small and panfish. Access: Public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water. Suitability for watercraft: canoes. Comments: Excellent canoeing water, long deep, sow pools, mostly tree lined. Hand launch: at South New Berlin off Rt. 8 and Rt. 23.

Bowman Creek
Pitcher, NY, Smithville, NY

Principal species of fish: Bass, trout. Access: water access or access is privately owned and partially posted. Suitability for watercraft: None. Comments: small, forested, swift moving stream.

Canasawaxta Creek and East Branch

Pharsalia, NY, Plymouth, NY

Principal species: of fish: Small-mouth bass. Access: water or access is privately owned, although not presently posted. Suitability for watercraft: none. Comments: Small, brush-lined stream. 

Cold Brook

Principal species of fish: Bass, trout, small-mouth bass. Access: water or access is privately owned, although not presently posted. Suitability for watercraft: None. Comments: small, semi-opened streams.

Geneganslet Creek
McDonough, NY, Smithville Flats, NY

Principal species of fish: bass, trout, small-mouth bass. Public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water. Suitability for watercraft: none. Comments: Medium-small sized, mostly tree-lined stream (excellent fly fishing).

Handsome Brook
Sherburne, NY

Principal species of fish: bass, trout, small-mouthed bass. Access: Water or access is privately owned, although not presently posted. Suitability for watercraft: none. Comments: Medium sized, mostly brush-lined stream.  

Ludlow Creek
Smithville Flats, NY

Principal species of fish: Bass, Trout Access: water or access is privately owned although not presently posted.  Suitability for watercraft: none.  Comments: small, brush-lined stream.

Balsam Pond
Pharsalia, NY, McDonough, NY

Principal species of fish: Norlunge, Large-mouth bass, panfish, and chain pickerel.  Access:  Public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water.  Suitability of watercraft: small motorboats, canoes.  Comments: 153 acres, shallow brush pond.  Hand launch: town of Pharsalia, 2 miles south of the village of Pharsalia.

Balsam Lake

Pharsalia, NY, McDonough, NY

Principal species of fish: Rainbow trout, small mouth bass.  Access:  Public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water.  Suitability of watercraft: Boat rentals only.  Comments: 34 acres, located at Bowman State Park.

Chenango Lake
New Berlin, NY

Principal species of fish: Norlunge, large-mouth bass, small-mouthed bass, chain pickerel and panfish.  Access:  Water or access is privately owned and at least partially "posted".  Suitability for watercraft:  small motorboats, canoes.  Comments: 135 acres, very clear water, pleasant surroundings.

Cook's Pond
Greene, NY

Principal species of fish: Large-mouth bass, chain pickerel, panfish  Access: public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water.  Suitability for watercraft: canoes.  Comments:22 acres located 3 miles east of Greene, South of rt 206.

Guilford Lake
Guilford, NY

Principal species of fish: Large-mouth bass, panfish, walleyes, chain pickerel and rainbow trout.  Access: water or access is privately owned and at least partially "posted".  Suitability for watercraft: small motorboats, canoes.  Comments: 70 acres, deep, round lake, ice fishing for trout permitted.

Hunts Pond
New Berlin, NY

Principal species of fish: Large mouth bass, chain pickerel, panfish Access: public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water.  Suitability for watercraft, canoes.  Comments: 20 acres owned by NYS office of Parks and Recreation located 2 miles southwest of New Berlin.

Jackson Pond
Pharsalia, NY

Prinicipal species of fish: Northern pike, largemouth bass, panfish.  Access: Public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water.  Suitability of watercraft: Canoes.  Comments: 18 acres, located on Pharsalia Wildlife Management Area.

Long Pond
Smithville Flats, NY

Prinicipal species of fish: Norlunge, Chain pickerel, largemouth bass and panfish.  Access: Public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water.  Suitablitiy for watercraft: Small motorboats, canoes.  Comments: 15 acres, excellent fishing for largemouth bass and crappies.  Hand launch: town of Smithville Flats, off rt #41.

Round Pond
Smithville Flats, NY

Principal species of fish: chain pickerel, panfish.  Access: public access is guaranteed along all or part of the water.  Suitability for watercraft: canoes.  Comments: 26 acres on Forest Land 1 mile west of Smithville Flats.
